.ftm .ftw files

I was sent a series of CDs with Family Tree Maker program
on it along with family tree information on subsquent
cd's. Windows XP says it can not read a .ftm or .ftw
file. What are these files and how can I change them so
that Windows XP or any computer can read them.
 
Sounds like they belong to the Family Tree Maker program, which you'll have
to install in order to read them.
