Hi everyone
I'm having a rather strange problem updating to windows XP SP2:
The first part of the installation (the text based one where it just
copies files and reboots) went OK.
The PC rebooted and the black screen with Windows came on with the blue
bars moving across the screen. The screen goes black again, and my
mouse cursor pops up.
At this point the Windows welcome screen is supposed to come on, but it
does not. An error pops up but the computer immediately reboots
afterwards. The error reads:
The Security Accounts Manager initialization failed because of the
following error: The media is write protected. Error Status 0xC0000189.
Please click OK to shutdown and reboot into Safe Mode and check the
Event logs for more information.
This happens all the time and my computer is trapped on some kind of
infinite loop of error-reboot-error-reboot etc
I'd appreciate all the help you can supply. Than you so much in advance.
