I hate "XP". Lots of problems and I don't know how to navigate myself around this operating system. I'm having program installation problems, Error messages when I log off the computer, the PC Doctor isn't working, My HP CD -Writer isn't working (Error states - no supporeted devices); but I can still read CD's, When trying to install new sofware, the computer locks up after only 2% or 4% complete. There's more, I just can't remember it all. I can't nor do I want to Re-Format because I'm currently taking a College on line course and can't afford t go dead in the water, so to speakl. Help, Help, Help

Is the CD writer on the XP compatability list? Also, you
don't have to reformat. If you think you have a bad
install, follow the directions in the MS Knowledge Base on
an In Place Upgrade. By the way, did you recently change
your OS, or is this a new/used/recently acquired system?
Do you have a current, fully updated AV program?
