Frozen Windows

I was trying to remove some spyware from my pc using spy
hunter - it seems to have deleted some important files
and my windows freezes once I type in my password. I can
get task manager to come up and run stuff from there but
nothing else. I tried to reinstall XP but it acts the
same maybe worse now. Any ideas?

Did you try the system restore functionality before trying to reinstall XP.
