Frozen Task Bar

My task bar at the bottom of the screen is basically
useless. It freezes up so I can't switch between
applications without finding the appropriate window on
the screen. That also means I can't click on the Start
button, which is really annoying. Can someone figure out
what's going on? Thanks.
 
I dunno about you, but this happens to me on the odd
occasion and it's usually because explorer is taking up
all the available cpu.. I just leave it for a few moments
and it goes back to normal
