Frozen links

If I leave my computer unattended for an hour or more, when i try the links
on my desktop do not respond, i.e. my internet link says "cannot open link".
and I have to reboot the system. When I go to start ...turn off
computer....instead of the regular colored box I get a grey box from which I
can reboot....I dont have hibernation or power settings on....Would there be
a solution to his annoyance?

It sounds like what ever connection you use to get to the net is being
powered down. Go to device manager and check in properties for the
device, power management tab and uncheck the allow computer to shut off
to save power box.
