frontpage vs. sharepoint services

In early May, I purchased a new computer running WindowsXP-Home Edition
I then purchased and installed Frontpage2003 upgrade [ upgrade from
frontpage 2000 which was an upgrade from full frontpage 98 ]
I installed from cd's a previously owned copy of "MS Office 2000 small
business" [ from which I use basically Word and Excel only ]
To my knowledge, I do not have a sharepoint server or sharepoint services.

Since the start of May this year, I have been publishing web pages to a new
site/new ISP which has " FrontPage2002 server extensions for Apache"
installed:

I right-click on a file I want to publish and select "publish file".
In the options box which comes up, I select:
"Frontpage or sharepoint services...The remote web server
supports frontpage serve extensions or sharepoint services"
I then enter the URL for the website :
http//:motzgraphics.com/animations.

Up until this a.m. I've been able to publish to this website without any
problems whatsoever.
This morning however, when I tried to publish a page via frontpage from my
hard drive to the on-line web site, I got the following error messages:

[When I tried to use frontpage2003 to open
http://motzgraphics.com/animations]
"server error: cannot open "We803cnf".no such file or folder."
I can go direct to http://motzgraphics.com/animations via my internet
address bar and the established pages are there and working.

[When I tried to use frontpage2003 to open http://motzgraphics.com]
"An error occurred accessing your windows sharepoint services site files.
Authors - if authoring against a webserver, please contact the webmaster for
this services website. Webmasters = please see the servers application event
log for more details.
When I go to http://motzgraphics.com I get only a broken link.

I contacted my ISP tech department which is in the process of removing and
then reinstalling the FrontPage extensions.and re-establishing the web site.
I also have a request in for the content of the event log mentioned in the
error message.

Does anyone know what might have caused the above problem or can someone
tell me what I might have done to make the system think my website was a
sharepoint services site instead of a frontpage extensions site or does this
sound like an ISP problem?
Is there any precaution I can take to avoid such a publishing problem in the
future?

Thanks.
Lesa

According to http://motzgraphics.com/animations/_vti_inf.html the folder animations does not have the FP SE (it is not a valid
subweb), and according to http://motzgraphics.com/_vti_inf.html the root web also does not have the FP SE (or they have been
corrupted thru use of FTP or something done by your host)
- has the host confirmed they have reinstalled the FP SE at the root web http://motzgraphics.com/

Once the have reinstalled the FP SE you will need to publish (All) to the root web before you can publish to the subweb (or publsih
to the root including subwebs) - if animation is supposed to be a subweb

Also, if animations is a subweb you need to check if they allow subwebs and publishing to subwebs
- many hosts don't

http://motzgraphics.com/Thank You Stefan,

The host reported via email that the FrontPage extensions were reinstalled
as of 9:17 pm yesterday, 06/27

I will pass the information and queries you gave me back to the tech guy at
