Is there any way I can change the frontpage ext. so that I can build my site
without going into websites that ACCEPT Frontpage? I would like to be able
to build on any server because I need to use other programs that are not
exclusively for frontpage.

If you do not want to use the functions that require the Server Extensions
you can use FrontPage, Dreamweaver, code in Notepad. They are all tools.
Even if you use FrontPage with the functions that require the Server
Extensions, you can also use Dreamweaver as a tool.

When you create you site on your local machine, do not use any features or functions that require
the FP extensions.

See the following for FP features/functions that require the run-time extensions:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281532&Product=fp2002
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232524/EN-US/

However, if the remote server doesn't have the FP extensions, you will not be able to work directly
on the live/remote server.

Chuck, thanks for your quick reply. I have Dreamweaver 6.0. How do I use it
with Frontpage? I'm not an expert on making websites, that's why I am using
the WYSIWYG programs. I am confused on how I can use Frontpage and then go
to Dreamweaver. Appreciate your help. :)

If you create a web site in FP and use FP extensions, you
should manage it in FP alone. Using another program to
add/change pages will disrupt FP's management. Why would
you want to use both? Either by themselves will do the jobs
fine.

If you're not an expert :-) ... don't switch back and forth...choose one, take some time to learn it. Have you used either one yet? Which one do you feel more comfortable with?
