frontpage creating extra sub-directories

my FP03 site is hosted on a MS2003 server. It seems that while republishing my site, FP is automatically creating sub-directories and moves the site files downwards to its newly created directory. Now when FP send a mail from a form, it points to a file uploaded by the form, however FP points to the original root directory where the file shoud have resided. How can I get FP to stick to the original directory where I've published the files and to stop creating subdirecories?
Thanks

Don't even try. First of all those files that seem to have been moved are
not what you think. For example the files in _VTI_CNF are not what their
names suggest. For example BOOKS>HTM in _VTI_CNF is not the books.htm file
that's part of my web - rather it contains information *about* the books.htm
file. Yes, FP has a weird and confusing way or organizing folders and files
but there's a method behind the madness. Don;t mess with it or you will be
in for a nasty surprise when FP or yuor web do not work properly.
