FrontPage and FTP

If a FrontPage client uses FTP to publish, I have always assumed that
FrontPage server extensions won't work and there will be a host of
problems. Is this still true in a FP2000/2002 environment with the
newest Server Extensions on IIS5?

FTP should be avoided in general if the remote server has the FP extensions,
however depending on specific needs, FTP may also be an option.
