Front Page XP Publishing Problems with TRIPOD (FREE)

K.Beaudoin

I have used FILE, PUBLISH WEB from within FRONT PAGE and then enterred
http://frontpage.tripod.com/mymembername/ . For some reason the last "/"
never appears in the drop down box and when I re-enter it, it drops off in
most cases although I have managed to get the site upload to begin....it
runs forever then finally says that a problem was encountered and that my
Front Page extensions aren't enabled. What am I doing wrong???
I've also tried to upload the site via FTP Commander and the upload works
great - only problem is that I can't see any of the graphics or page
banners/navigation bullets that have been added to the site - all I see are
boxes with "x's" in them....is there something that I can still do to
rectify this problem???
Hope someone can help! - Front Page extensions have been enabled on my
TRIPOD site and I'm using XP with IE 6
Thanks...

If you use anything but FP to publish your web you have corrupted the FP SE
Reapply them
That being said, the free site FP SE like tripod are notoriously flaky

If you have to resort to using a 3rd party FTP
- don't use any features requiring the FP SE (like forms, counters , etc)
- make sure you upload the hidden folders like _themes and _derived
