Front Page Data views

I'm really a novice using Microsoft Front Page. I'm trying to create a Data
View with FP which will allow my webpage to search through my database of
inventory saved on an excel spreadsheet. The problem is that FP won't
even let me "in" so to speak. -- I have an asp file in which i went to
INSERT>>DATABASE>>DATA VIEW.... and then all it prompts in front of me is
the following message " the FP Data view features can only be used on servers
running WINDOWS SHAREPOINT SERVICES...."
I called up my webhost company (Network Solutions) and they assured me that
they do in fact have SHAREPOINT SERVICES... so where do i go from here???...

Please HELP!!!

If you are attempting to use an Excel file as your Data source you can't use a Data View
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=268948
Which would use the FP Server Extensions

PS
Just because your host has WSS, doesn't mean your hosting plan is on a server running WSS
To find out what you have, open your online site in FP and look at Tools Site Settings
