FreshDevices?

Hi all

Anybody here, had experience with FreshDevices products? I've tried their
Download manager, seemed OK on XP, SP2, but couldn't see the point of it,
after all it's limited by the phone line band width and it didn't seem to
improve my download times. It was free though, bless em, but now I'm deluged
with promos of their other products. I'm not complaining, because I could
easily bar this, just curious if anybody else here has tried them, anything
outstanding?

I've been subscribing to FreshDiag and FreshUI since early 2002 and have
found them quite interesting for info and that, but haven't found them
quite interesting enough to keep installed.
Worth checking out though, and they are still under active development.
 
I use FreshDownload on daily basis. True, it doesn't speed things up much,
but it can resume downloads, leech links from a page, and has a pretty
little bar graph shown while downloading :)

I subscribed to their newsletter for awhile, but finally gave it up as it
was filling up my inbox. Haven't checked into them in nearly a year, but
they appear to have OK stuff...though they do spam you. Like another poster
I never kept anything installed.

Been using Fresh Download for many years with no problems. Big
advantage is the resume if connection lost.

I do get emails about other products but it does not seem that often.

Good thing about the emails is that they tell me when there is an
update of Fresh Download available.

Thanks for the 'input' and all you other good people, your right about the
resume download bit, I had forgotten this facet. But now my one brain cell
has been nudged into work, I also recall that when I tried to access a
secure web site, I think (Fuji), FreshDownload couldn’t resume a 60Mb file,
it always failed at this secure point. I got fed up and ordered this file by
’escargot’ mail. Maybe I should’ve got back to them about this, but ’FD’
ended up being uninstalled, when I got badly zapped by a virus and I had to
rebuild puter.

Excellent NG by the way, one of the best, can’t keep my eyes of all this
FREE ware, I’ve tried a little bit of it, with success and some need a touch
of tolerance/patience, but I’m profoundly impressed with the resourcefulness
and dedication of all you analysts/programmers out there, that devote your
time to build this stuff, for us, for FREE. I know in a cynical world, it
can be said that some must have a commercial goal in mind in the end, but I
say, good for you. If your product develops into a useful, world class, paid
for, tool and we get to use/test/build it, well that’s an excellent
partnership, more power to us all.

Not all downloads can be resumed. I don't think this is a problem caused by
FreshDownload.
