Frequent checkdisc and corrupt data

G

gitman

My computer frequently runs checkdisc on startup and it
deletes a lot of "orphaned file record segment(s)" and
then entire folders are missing! I have been having this
problem ever since I've had the NTFS file system and
large drives installed. I've got the SP1 (and all other
windows updates)installed, and had the update that talks
about large drives and power management installed as well
and still my drives keep losing data. All my drivers are
the latest (asus motherboard intel chip set, bios, etc.)
I also have a strange problem with moving large files. I
moved a cd image (.bin) file to another folder on the
same drive and then I get "access denied" message when
trying to view the folder. Can anyone help me with this
problem? TIA

Just assisted a fellow the other day who was using an AMD processor. He had
multiple file/large file corruption also. Told him to install the very
latest IDE drivers. It solved his problem
