Freezing

My computer has plenty of room, i run spybot, adaware, avg, spyware blaster,
and defrag it regularly, plus cleaning my hard drive, yet my pc is freezing
very often particularly in one Messenger Program, should i do a complete
reformat ?

Have a look in task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) when it does it next, and see
what is using the cpu
