Freezing Outlook 07

Has anybody got any suggestion for this issue? No matter how 'vague' it may
sound I will try (almost) anything to get this resolved. It's becoming more
than a little frustrating.

Youve run Office Diagnostics?
Uninstalled any anti virus intergrated with Outlook?
Tried opening Outlook with the safe switch ie;
Run; Outlook.exe /safe

If that doesn't work, try looking at the search and indexing options.
We ran into this because it was trying to index folders on another server.
Totally crapped out for 10-20min per day on first launch.

Tools, Options, Search and uncheck all of the "Index Messages in these data
files"

Many thanks for all suggestions ...

System restore - no change - besides, it's a long term issue and has been
happening since I first installed Office 07. I even went so far as
uninstalling & reinstalling

Running in Safe Mode has no beneficial effect

I changed my internet security/virus software from Trend Micro to AVG - no
change

I have now switched off the indexing option and will see if that makes any
difference
