freezes in movie in Media Player 10

Hi there,

When I go to play a movie in Media Player 10, it freezes the computer, and I
have to reboot the machine.....

All other programs work just fine, it's just the Media Player 10.

Any ideas?

Tell us more details about your PC. Are you running Win 98?
XP? XP w/SP2? MCE? Do you meet the minimum system
requirements for WMP 10? See this link:

That's a neat trick! A good high-wattage heater should solve that problem.

All other programs work just fine, it's just the Media Player 10.

Any ideas?

Try a different player, like VLC.
