We had someone load Java into our computer so I could play
games. This person also downloaded drivers for our scanner
because we were having problems getting the scanner to
work. Now on boot up when the computer reaches the system
specification window(the black screen with the computer
description)it freezes there for like 2 minutes and then
continues the boot up.The whole process takes around 4
minutes.Any advice on how to correct this? Thank you.

I would exclude Java as its a software application and cannot affect the
computer at that stage of booting, the same goes for the scanner
SOFTWARE. I would look closely at what is printed on the screen. Did
you hit DEL and go into the BIOS? perhaps the hardwares changed and the
BIOS hasnt been adjusted (Like told there is a fixed drive in there, but
had it removed).

I would blame the scanner first. Ubplug it. Did the guy plug anything
into the PC to connect the scanner, like a SCSI card?
