Freeware icon extractor ??

Does anyone know of a freeware icon extractor that I could use to extract
icon from files and compile them into a new icon file?? Also does anyone
know where I might find some icon files such as the moricons.dll file that I
got someplace??

Moricons.dll is in \Windows (part of OS).

There are freeware icon resources all over the web and plenty buried in exe
and dll files all over your PC.
Dig with a resource editor.

I use a couple of the icons in \windows\system\pifmgr.dll as well.

Do you know of any 16 bit resource editors apart from Exescope?
Reason is some files, like W9x sysdm.cpl, are 16 bit and these resource
editors (excellent though they are) are mostly 32 bit only.

Why do you think this groups exists? If Google search is the only
answer then perhaps there is no need for Google Groups. It would be an
endless cycle with your replys!
