Freelancer - Model Damage Files (.SUR)

G

Guest

Was just wondering if there is any tools or any methods available for creating custom .sur files that freelancer uses for the damage surfaces and such

My reasons are that i would like to put custom ships in for playing the game with in singleplayer. But with out the .sur files for them the ships do not take proper damage and it makes it no fun.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Hi Rolly,

If such a method exists you will find it in the modding section
at www.lancersreactor.com - Home of the best Freelancers! :)

Hi Twex,

You could submit that as a Wish if you like :)

To contact Microsoft with ideas, comments, and suggestions there's a form at:

| Although they have been able to decode much of the file type, They haven't managed to do enough to be able to create new ones.
| Is there any tool, or can Microsoft post up the full structure of the data that is contained in this type of file so that new ones
can be created? There are a lot of original designs out there that would be wonderful flying around the Sirius sector, and being
flown accurately. Rather than having phantom bits of ship sticking out, or enemy fire passing straight through the hull.
