Audacity doesn't seem to record DIRECT to mp3 (without any conversion from
WAV needed), and the other 2 programs mentioned are CD Rippers. I just want
to be able to record from the "Line In" of my PC direct to mp3 file (not CD
Ripping).

Kind Regards
Andrew

Not being fussy, but i did try mp3DirectCut a few months ago and found it
very fiddly and complicated. Many thanks though for the speedy response
Ivan. I was wanting one from which it was a simple press of the Record
button and didn't even have to have an editor built into it. i have CoolEdit
as an editor anyway !

Many Thanks
Andrew

They also record. Trust me.

Regarding Audacity, *ALL* sound recording - either from line in or CD -
is in wave initially; that wave must then be encoded to MP3...it can be
done so transparently as in the ones I gave you or when you save the
recording as in Audacity.
