Free FTP software

I've been using, for several months now, a lesser-known free FTP client
BatchFTP. As I said, it's free--though registration is mandatory (no cost
and no SPAM or any thing as collateral). It operates a bit differently
from normal clients in that it, by default, creates "batches" rather than
just dealing with a file at a time. It's especially handy for frequently
uploaded/downloaded files and also does well if you want it to
download/upload a file at a particular time and have Batch shut down
afterwards . . .

At any rate, it's free, easy to use and once you get used to its somewhat
different approach, saves a lot of time. Someone might find it as handy as
I do:

a chance to remind our fellow citizens that we have an advantage here in
America - we can feed ourselves.

From the registration page:

"What is registration and why do you need it?
Registration is totally FREE. It is required more for motivational
reasons than anything else. We don't ask too many things and NEVER sell,
share, or distribute your personal information to anyone for any reason."

Ah Registrationware. Some are inocous, some are evil. This is evil.
Registration and activation. I choose freeware and free software to
escape this not to endure it. Registration is require every time you
install. The number or key is fixed to your computer so you have to
register again each time you install in other computers. Probably even
if you change some hardware piece of your computer or reinstall your
operating system. So why all this trouble if the program is "free"?
