Free CPU load meter sought

I'm looking for an easy-to-install freeware which will display the
following status bars in the taskbar:
* ***CPU load***
* memory usage
* network load
I couldn't find anything appropriate on the internet, so I'm now
hoping for your suggestions, thanks.

Hi Karl,

I had looked for something similar a while back. I did find
a couple that put things in the SysTray and one that put it
in the TaskBar. None of them were very easy to see.

I ended up downloading StatBar which is FreeWare and can be
found at;

It does have a large footprint though. With all of the
things I have turned on for it, it process uses about
23.2MB. I never bothered to check how small a footprint it
could have, but if you are only using the 3 things you
mentioned, the footprint might be considerably smaller.

This is quite strange, I'm also using Xubuntu and there a light
loadmeter comes as standard, and I have found it to be very useful.
But when I tried to find something similar for XP it was like the
quest for the holy grail ...
Like you mention, for some reason all the meters have massive
footprints! But how ... but why ... (lower lip quivers) but, but ...
WHY?!?

Why not the Windows Task Manager? It provides the exact info you're after
under the "Performance" and "Networking" tabs.

True, but I want to have that info visible all the time.

Yeah, StatBar is quite good. I like that it works straight out of the
box and is easy and versatile to configure. The only thing I don't
like about it is the large "StatBar" icon, but I'll get over that
someday.

I'm fairly certain you can set Task Manager to display a graph in the System
Tray, just cant recall how..

Process Explorer will do this also.

Process Explorer will do this also.

You can, but it was quite difficult, and then it's not very flexible.
I mean, task manager just isn't intended for that purpose.

How about the embeded performance monitor?

Open the run prompt and type "perfmon", will be able to provide the items
that you are looking for plus a whole lot more

That answer doesn't even satisfy ONE of the OP's needs.

Yes I can read, what's more I can use the performance monitor!

Granted you need to use the "+" button on the toolbar to add the objects and
processes you wish to measure eg:- % CPU load on each processor.

(Suggest that you take a proper look Uncle Grumpy of the fuctionality
offered by perfmon)

Just as a follow up, if the ad is really bothering you, you
can look for version 2.405 of StatBar. It doesn't have the
ad, and for some odd reason it has a smaller footprint then
2.406 which is the latest version.

When I suggested it to you, I was running v2.405. I
downloaded the latest version a day or two later.

Because of some strange network activity on my computer, I
decided to uninstall StatBar and reinstall the previous
version. Since the reinstall of 2.405 my network
peculiarities have not reappeared and I don't have the ad.
