free avg download

after reading some of these discussions I have this free download (AVG 6.0) as some on this site talk about. Evrything went accordingly, I thought, but when I looked into the information part it said that I was running windows 2000 pro. In fact I am running win xp home ed. Should I be concerned about this and if so what can I do to change it? I would ask AVG but do not have that option because I opted for the free version, as suggested. Thank's.

Chris;
I am running XP Home also. My Info in AVG says Windows 2000 Professional too. I don't have any
other problems with AVG. In fact, I did not even know about the Windows 2000 Professional deal
until I looked after seeing your post. And I have been using AVG since I had Windows 98.
If you have no other problems, I wouldn't worry about it. Keep it updated!

Windows 2000 is really Windows NT 5.0
Windows XP is really Windows NT 5.1

I assume AVG (like other programs) just sees the 5 and calls it Windows 2000
Professional

David;
Duh... Windows 5.1 is the key here. Doesn't matter what else is said. Aida32 says I
have Whistler.
Start | Run | winver | Says Microsoft ® Windows Version 5.1 blah blah.
Have a Happy New Year!
