Freddo's xp service pack 2 problem

When downloading from a CD I firstly get a message "Inspecting your current
configuration"....nothing happens for a long time, maybe an hour.....then I
get the following message:
"Setup could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer"
I have no idea what this means....what should I do??? thanks in
anticipation.
