Fraud alert

Hi all

I've read in MaximumPC that the FBI has been pursuing this line of
fraud:

Latest one on best buy, where hundreds of complaints have been filed
for a scam claiming to be from the BestBuy Fraud department notifying
you that you're the victim of credit card fraud.

A link provided will take you to a "BestBuy Fraud Alert" web site,
where you're asked to enter your credit card info, social security
number, DOB, mother's maiden name, and even ATM pin codes. The fake
site even has real links to the actual BestBuy web site, to give it an
air of legitimacy.

If you receive one of these emails, notify the FBI at their internet
fraud web site:

ps. the same has been done with the names of other vendors like
PayPal, e-bay, Amazon, including the names of your isp. Be wary.

Only the incredibly stupid would fall victim to such scams.
Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) many do.
Over 8,000 AOL users fell victim to this particular scam last month.
