FP2000 does not recognize .jpg extension?

Frank

I'm using FP2K with Windows XP (home). I have a problem
where I insert a photo with a .jpg extension but FP
appends a .jpeg extension to the filename (or _small.jpeg
when using thumbnails). In addition, sometimes FP will
not import the new image into the web but instead will
set the default hyperlink to the location on my PC
(i.e. ../../../My Documents/My Photos/blah.jpg.jpeg).
Whether it works or not appears almost random, but
perhaps is related to long filenames?

Also, I am unable to import files larger than 1MB. I
believe I read of a fix for this issue on this newsgroup
sometime ago but I cannot find reference to any related
messages now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank

1) Always File Import your images into your FP site before using them
(remove all spaces from file names)
2) Yes files larger than 1MB can not be imported (due to some recent IE or Win Security patch)
- use windows explorer to copy them to your FP web folder , then open FP and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks when you open FP

PS
if your images are 1 mb recommend resizing / compressing them in your image editor before using them in your web
