FP Pictures still disappearing!

My FP ( or me) keeps on causing my images to dissapear from the development
pages. ( very frustrating)

I think it is because every time I cut and paste the interactive bullets ( I
have created them as the navigation bars) it wants to save them as new gifs
all over again with new names etc. This creates 100s of gif images especially
after I have done a few pages, the result being that I can't tell what gif
belongs where! & mess.
Is there an easier way so that the navigation gifs are linking to only to
one set of gif images.

a nice way to go is make a single page with just navigation on it. then you
can use it as an "include" page:
insert/ web component/ included content/ page, browse to the page.

what you can do to make it even nicer is do your navigation page as just
"regular" hyperlinks and call a single set of images for the background
using .css. that way you'll get the appearance of "rollover" buttons but
without all the "extra" pictures.

Here's a very rough template I was working on for someone:

left seem to be roll over buttons but are just styled "regular" hyperlinks.
(it's real rough and only been tested in IE).
