Found Partial Solution to Themes Problem...What Now?

Hi,
I recently had some difficulty with my XP themes disappearing. I had
installed WindowBlinds (trial version) and was not present when the version
ended. It uninstalled automatically and left me with the Windows Classic
theme...and that's it. I found a partial solution via another question in
this forum:
"Visit here...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
187. Restore Themes Functionality"

I have been able to restore the WinXP Luna Theme, albeit temporarily. I
opened one of the files found in the folder downloaded from the above site to
do so (it showed a modified Display Properties dialogue box) and I now have
the theme, but it still does not appear as a choice in the Display
Properties>>Appearance>>Windows and Buttons drop down menu. Is there a way
to apply the files found in the downloaded folder so that they are iinstalled
permanently on my system.

Thank you,
Daveed

Make sure your Themes service is set to start. Go to Start Menu -> Settings
-> Control Panel -> Administrativ Tools -> Services. Double-click on the
Themes Service and make sure it's startup type is set to automatic. Also, if
necessary click the start button.

Hi Keith,

Thank you for your response. I had already done that (it was the suggestion
made by Stardock's help forum). There is still only the one choice appearing
in the drop down menu...Window's Classic. I'm thinking that if i could
transfer the files that I downloaded from Kelly's Korner inot the appropriate
folder and restart, it may solve the problem. They are presently sitting on
my desktop.

Hi Wesley,

Thanks for the tips. I tried all of the suggestions and found that all that
should be running...was running. I went back to the first comment you made
about the location of the Luna file and cross referenced with the Resources
folder downloaded from Kelly's Korner and found that the Luna file was
missing on my computer. I copied from the downloaded folder to my Resources
folder, restarted and voila...fixed! WinXP syle is now available in Display
Properties.

Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
