Hello,
My pc runs Windows XP sp2. We recently had about 4 power surges during the
night, and since then I've had problems with certain programs. The one I am
inquiring about are my themes. I had the aquarium and space themes previously
installed, but they are no longer listed in the display properties. They
accually stopped running until I did a "system restore to a previous date."
If I should try to change a theme or view a theme, I get this error message:
ERROR LOADING THEME
The file "C:\Windows\resources\1033\aquarium.theme" is not a valid theme.
Then it opens the diplay properties and it doesn't contain aquarium or space
themes. But it will run the aquarium theme and screensaver.
I've tried these steps to correct it:
Run, typed "gpedit.msc". Clicked on User Config, admin templates, control
panel, display and desktop theme. Double clicked "prevent selection of
windows and buttons styles." Made sure "not configured" is checked-it was.
Then...Run, typed "services.msc", located themes in the list and made sure it
was set to automatic-it was.
I believe the power surges corrupted the files and I'd like to know how to
fix or reinstall them.
I appreciate and thank you for your help,
Linda S
