found new hardware

Please tell me why windows keeps saying that it has found new hardware but
there is nothing, no hardware has been added.
It says that it is searching for drivers but can't find them, it then tells
me that the device might not work properly.
This is really annoying and I can't stop it from happening, any ideas?

There should be a box to check to not search anymore.

Go to SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - HARDWARE - DEVICE MANAGER.. do
you have any items that have been marked with an exclamation (yellow
symbol)?..

have the same problem ( yellow symbol by a usb and camera ) cant get them to work
how do you fix this ?

Go to the 'hardware manager' and remove the camera from the config.. then
use 'add/remove programs' to eliminate any software support for it..
shutdown and restart the computer..

Ensure that you have XP drivers for the camera, and then load them and the
supporting software for your camera.. the software installation will tell
you when it is time to connect the camera.. it is important when installing
USB devices to load drivers and software first, and not connect the device
until told..
