After all these months, I've finally found a freeware envelope printer
that is small and does exactly what I want. Save a database of
addresses, easily print envelopes, etc.

If anyone would like a copy of the archive, please let me know
privately. I don't recall where I found it on the internet -- it may
have been the pc-world archive, but it's really great.

(Please don't post requests on this newsgroup -- it just clogs the
system. Let me know privately and I'll send you a copy.)

What's it called?

Richard

As far as I can see, it's just called "Envelope." The readme file
indicates it was written by a company for in-house use, and they just
released it for anyone to use. It has roots in the old Win 3.1 days,
but it works very well on my XP system.

This doesn't appear to be freeware, only a 30 day trial.

John.

I found v7.0 at http://www.sorcerersoftware.com/envelp70.exe. It
offers a free trial -- so freeware is out. They want 15USD. Looks
like nagware. The database function is only available for those who
register.

Could you post your version on alt.binaries.warez.win95-apps?

Thanks.

Where did you read this? There's nothing anywhere to indicate this is
the case. In fact, the help screen says "everyone is invited to use
envelope free of charge."

Hmmm, I don't know if this is the same program. And the version I found
has a fine database function.

I'll check it out.

I just went to their website. The people who wrote the one I found are
in Canada, with no visible link to the one you found. They seem to be
in California.

Upload it to the freeware binary group
If you don't have that group send it to someone who does and they
can upload it for others to check out/use/share

It seems I don't have it. If someone who has the file would like to do it,
I would appreciate it.

Hi Jeff,

I've used this program for about three years. its prints envelopes
perfectly for me.

Its requires a wee bit of setting up but is well worth it.
I quite like the PIM side of it also.

PIM side? I didn't see any thing in the program about a PIM, other than the
address database. Yes, it's quite nice.

Perhaps I got the jargon wrong. There are quite nice features to the
database imho.

Persevere with the envelope bit though, the address you want to print
doesn't have to be in the
data base.
