Forwarding Contacts As a Mail Attachment In Outlook 2003

tark

When I use a drag and drop technique to forward contacts as an attachment to
an email in Outlook 2003 the reciepant only gets an attachment showing as
winmail_dat.renamed. In the subject list is shows a message [attachment
filtered].

A smilar situation applys when I try and forward multiple appointments.

Can someone please help me how I can get the formatting right to forward
several contacts or appointments?

Try using Plain Text or HTML format to send your attachment.

To change the format of your email:
Open TOOLS | OPTIONS... | MAIL FORMAT

That's an issue on the recipient's end. His or her mail system is removing
or renaming the attachment. Since the attachment is "winmail.dat" (prior to
the recipient's mail system changing it), you must be using Rich Text as
your mail format. Pick "Plain Text" or HTML to suppress the "winmail.dat"
attachment.

It depends on what type of attachments your recipients are allowed to
receive. Zipping attachments first is one way to increase your chances of
sending an attachment they'll receive.
