Attachment being stripped when forward email

T

tlam

I have a user with Outlook 2003, when she forward an email with attachment
to a particular recipient, it stripped out of the attachment. Is this on
the recipient side or sender side? Thanks in advance

if its limited to that recipient it's the recipients server - many antivirus
and content control scanners delete attachments.

However, if the message size indicates the attachment is there and
especially if the recipient uses Outlook Express, make sure the forward is
sent using plain text or html formatting, not RTF.

I have the same problem. Some of the users, when forward a message with
attachments DO have this attachments in sent items, but the other side does
not. We have tried to locate the problem, and catch the behavior, but not
successfully. Both have Outlook 2003 with SP3. weird, is not it?

it's usually because either the AV software removes it or because you are
using RTF format and the recipients don't use outlook.

Both have Outlook SP3. In sent message on 1st pc there is a msg with
attachments, and on the 2nd in inbox only body.
format - html. in address book - properties - outlook will decide the type.

What antivirus does the recipient use? Are they scanning inbound email with
it?

both use NOD32 antivirus with mail scanning outbond and inbond.
Even if i disable mail scan, the situation is the same. :(

in most cases you need to uninstall the AV, then reinstall without email
scanning for it to work.
