Forwarding a copy of a form from a Public Folder to a user's inbox

Our organization uses a public folder with an associated form to post IT
support tickets to a central location. When certain criteria is
entered on the form, then a copy of the form would be e-mailed to
certain users' mailboxes. Those users would then be able to double
click on the forwarded copy of the form to open it as if they had
browsed to the Public Folder to open it.

We were using Outlook XP and Exchange 2000, and this functionality
worked flawlessly. However, we have upgraded to Exchange 2003
Enterprise (still using Outlook XP), and the functionality has since
stopped working. The public folder no longer forwards a copy of the
form, it only send a FW: blank e-mail.

We're looking for assistance to get this working in 2003 as it did with
Exchange 2000. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Where is the form published? What form is the Forward action on the custom form set to? It needs to be set to the published custom form.

I was mistaken by saying "forward" - what I should have described was
that previous to the Exchange 2003 upgrade the form was posted into the
public folder and also *copied* to certain users. It showed up as a
posting in their mailboxes with the From: showing as the person who made
the posting to the public folder.

After the Exchange 2003 upgrade (it may just be a coincidence), the form
is not showing up in the users' mailboxes - only a forward with a FW:
prefix in the subject and the From: showing as the form name is coming
in. This is not the desired result because the end users would then
have to sort through the postings in the public folder in order to find
the original post. We want them to have a copy of the original post in
the mailbox so they don't complain about having to search through
hundreds of posts to find the appropriate post.

I apologize for the incorrect description of my original newsgroup post.

What mechanism makes the copy? We still need to know where the form is published.

The form is published to the public folder. In order for the end users
to be able to view the copy in their mailboxes, the form was also set up
using the Forms tab - Manage button within the Properties of their
Inbox folder.

The copy was originally made by an option on the Public Folder that was
in the Properties - Administration tab - Folder Assistant button. It
was set up as a rule. I was almost sure that there was an option for
copying the form in the rule- however it seems to be missing now since
we upgraded. I believe it was a pull-down option for the Forwarding
Method. None of the 3 options currently there produce the result that
we had before the upgrade.

Have you tried publishing the form directly to the user's Inbox, rather than using the Manage Forms dialog?
