All my formula results display a 0 in the cell. I see the correct result in
the Formula Argument box. The cell format is general. And I have the same
result with IF formula or VLookup.

I would check the formats that are assigned to all the cells displaying
zeroes, to rule out an errant format assignment.

If the data are numbers, perhaps they have been entered as Text?

Copy an empty cell.

Select the range of "numbers" and Edit>Paste Special>Add>OK>Esc.

If not the above then post some sample data and a formula or two.
