I recently installed xp professional. After lots of
playing around, especially with the restore utility, it
appears I have used up all of my memory. I cannot perform
a restore anymore and the network is not operational. How
can I format my hard drive and re-install? If I use the
command prompt I get a message that asks if I want to
forcably dismount the volume, however it will not be
locked????
Thanks,
Jim

Turn off restore from Start>accessories>System tools>system restore.
If that doesn't help, possibly a larger hard drive and maybe memory would
help. Both memory and hard drives are very cheap now.
