Hi

You probably need to change the boot sequence via the BIOS. Have look in
the manual for your motherboard. It should tell you how to access the BIOS
and also how to change the boot sequence.

You need to change the boot sequence in the system BIOS so that your
CD/DVD drive is the first boot device.

It's different for all computers some by pressing the esc
key at start-up H/P most by pump the F1 key, dell
F2,theres a site that has the exact list for most
computers but cant remember off the top of the ol
brainol.Try at start-up with esc then f1 and up till you
get the bios screen, arrow over to the boot listing arrow
down to seqence, read the right side if you have
trouble,it may look like this floppy--ide hd--cd rom(or
api device something like that),you need to set the cd
rom first then floppy then hard drive.when your done you
can go back in and reset to default or change it back
like it was.I have mine set to hard drive first,it saves
a couple of seconds for me that way it dont have to run a
check on the floppy and CDroms, boots strait from the
HD,but when if something happens need to change it back.

u should go to the bios and change the first boot device
to ur cd drive in place of ur hard disk drive. in some
bios u can go to the menu by just pressing f11 when the
system restarts. also make sure that u have got a
bootable cd of win xp.dont forget to restore the first
boot device to ur hdd once ur done with formatting.
otherwise ur booting time will increase.
