I am copying and pasting text from Word files. I cover the text so that I can
apply "numbering". However the other lines after the first line are not
indenting. I have tried various ways - "Edit - Paste
Special","Tools-Autocorrect Options (various tries)" but I am obviously doing
something wrong - advice please - thanks.Take care, David

The text is in a word file. I cover the text, copy it and paste it in the
Powerpoint file. I cover the text in the Powerpoint file and click on the
"Numbering" icon in the Formatting Toolbox so the text becomes autmatically
numbered - hope this explains it - thanks. Funny thing is that I've managed
to do this formatting on one page ok but I have no idea why it should be ok
on that page but not on others. David

Cover was what was confusing me. You mean highlighting the text.

Here's what I'd do: Copy the text to the placeholder then click on Format,
Slide Layout and reapply the layout (usually the title/text layout). Click
on the outside edge of the placeholder to select the entire box and then
click on the number icon. If you need certain lines to indent to a
second/third level, highlight the line and click on the indent icons to
increase/decrease indents.

Hope this helps,
Glenna
