Still got no DSL line!!! :( The problems been sent back to BT.

I got my speed doubled about 2 months ago, but that cant be the problem coz it happened so long ago, and i used the 1MB connection for all that time without a prob.

Hres the link to the original post about the DSL prob, if you wanna have a look.

I agree with chris is saying to have them check you SNR... See if they are getting a return ping off your Modem. If its not that, then its a software issue or your NIC card maybe bad or driver went out. And no you dont need to run Ddisk, Doing so w/o knowing what to do can be a baad thing. I use it mainly to completly wipe a system out, pre-OS. It gets the viruses out that hide below the OS you cant even get to in safe mode. Cheers and good luck.

Well BT called yesterday afterrnoon and they are sending out an engineer on saturday morning. So i'll just have to wait untill then.

Moco - AOL did loads of tests when i was on the phone to them the last couple of days, say they cant get a return signal, I guess thats what they did. I've tried 2 different drivers for the modem and the modems fine coz a friend tried his still nothing worked!!

The BT line tests should work on your line whatever.

Unplug absolutly everything else from every other phone socket - if theres a piece of malfunctioning hardware in one socket of the house, it will screw up everything else.

It's just a process of elimination until you find the problem..

If any of you were wondering it was the exchange, faulty equpment apparently.

The engineer couldn;t fix it on saturday so he got the broadband specialist in and he found the prob! At last!!

Cheers for all the help you lot gave me! :thumb:
