Formatting Hrad drive in XP PRO

I want to foramt my hard drive & re-install XP PRO;
cannot!
When I palce XP cd-rom in H: drive,cannot get to booot
from there! When I try to set up from H: it says curent
version is running! How do I format?? Trying to hold F8
with CD in, doesn't help!
How do you format hard drive in XP environment??

You have to boot from the CD. Go into the Bios when the computer boots
and set the CD drive as the first drive in the boot list.

If you want to wipe everything off your computer and
start fresh, I always use 'Disk Wizard' from Seagate
(download from seagate site).
It has a utilities section to 'zero fill your hard drive'.
It takes a little time but wipes everything off.
