To reformat your hard drive... Shut down your computer, make sure you are able to boot from cd using the bios settings. Insert the Windows XP cd and turn your computer on. Follow the directions on screen. Select the Drvie you wish to re-format. Select the option that is on top. not the (quick) mode. When finished reformating, you will have to re-install xp so be sure you have the prosuct key avilible. Hope this helps
