Formatting changes in Outlook 2007 after sending

The following behavior recurs frequently in Outlook 2007, using HTML
formatting. The text of the message has two different fonts -- e.g.,
different typefaces and colors. I use the format paint tool to copy
the formatting from one part to the other, so the entire message
appears to be consistent. One font, one color, one type size. The
format is set to HTML. After sending the message, I look in my sent
mail folder (or if I email myself, I see the message in my inbox), and
my formatting changes didn't "take" -- it is back to having two
different fonts. Yet before sending it appeared to be exactly what I
wanted.

There is no conversion to RTF or plaintext going on here -- it is all
just HTML.

I've had other similar instances where the message as sent is
formatted differently then it appears when I hit send; the above
example is just one regularly occurring instance.

Any ideas how to avoid? Has anyone seen this behavior?

If you quickly compose a message and send before autosave kicks in, does it
work? How about if you click Save before sending (if you needed more than 3
min to edit)? If it works correctly in either circumstance you need to
install updates from Microsoft updates - there is a bug that was fixed some
time ago.

I can't reproduce it reliably, so I also can't figure out the
conditions under which it does and doesn't happen. I'll see if I can
test the conditions you suggest below. Do you have a kb number for the
bug fix? My system is fully updated with Windows updates; I also have
the recent Outlook 2007 cumulative update (kb961752) installed.
