formatting a computer

If i just installed a genuine version of windows xp PROFESSIONAL, and like a
year later, it starts to get problems and so on. If i were to format the
computer, would i still be able to use the same cd key as before???
 
actually you should only reformat the harddrive and
leave the computer be...

just do a "repair" with the cd you have....

Note that you can't format the computer; you can only format a drive (or
partition) on the computer.

But yes, you can reformat and continue to use the same key.
