Formating drive\backup

J.R.D.

receintly I had to reformate my hard drive ( trojan
horse ),in Windows XP-SP1. I used original CD-rom's
My problem is a years worth of automatic updates from
Microsoft that are not on the original cd's . i spent the
better part of a weekend reinstalling updates ( dial-up
modem ). is there any way of making backups for these
updates or any other way to avoid having to go through
reinstalling them through download.

If you or a friend have access to a broadband connection
(speeds up download)it is possible to go to the download
center at Microsoft, download the updates you want/need
to save and burn them to a CD.

Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?
displaylang=en

Enter the KB or Q number of the patch in the Keywords box
and press Go.
