I have screwed up. I upgraded windows me to windows 2000
pro. now I really just want to format and reload. CAN
ANYONE HELP!

Boot the computer with the W2k cd and install a fresh copy. When asked to
format the hard drive, choose a full format with NTFS.

Set your bios to boot to the install cd, then do just that
let the setup program format your hard disk, in the format
of your choice ie NTFS or FAT32.
I assume you have a bootable version of the install cd?
Have you verified your hardware is compatable with W2k??

With a current install, you'll need to press ESC to
install a fresh copy instead of a repair, then when it's
asking which partition to install to, press D to delete
the partition and start over...
