Format mismatching when i open file with custome template

Hi,

I am using custom templates to open the reports. we are
recently moved from word 97 to Word2002. I copied word 97
custom templates to Word2002 folder. my template having
the font setting courier New 8, style lain text. when i
am trying to open the file using with this template i am
able to open the file. font is showing 8 and courier new.
when i keep the mouse on the body font is changing to 10
and stle is changing to plain text + 10 pts. My original
document font is 10 only but my requirement is when i
open through template font automatically change to 8.
this function is working fine in Word 97. do i need to
modify any thing on the template when i moved to Word
2002.

You said you were using custom templates to open the reports. How are you doing this? That is, what keystrokes or menu items are you
using to open the documents?
