I am trying to install a clean install on a laptop.
I have XP Pro.
The system has ME on it.
Below is what is stopping me.
I want to format and wipe the HD then install the XP pro.

Ok , check this out...I went through to the part where it asks to
delete the partition and when I pressed "D" to delete the partition it says
that
=========================
"setup is unable to perform the requested operation on the selected
partition.
This partition contains temporary setup files that are required to complete
the installation."
============================
Now what do you have an idea what I have to do to get this Xp Pro loaded?
Please....
Bill V.

Are you trying to load through your current windows version, or are you
booting directly to the cd?

well Jon,
I that I have it whipped now...eeeha...
The main problem was the boot drive needed changed.
I am trying to wipe the C drive clean and install Win XP pro on it fresh and
new.

It is at the present copying files to the HD from the XP cd after a
format....so as you see things are going well now...

thanks for the response, though.
regards,
Bill & Samuel
