Hi

I am using XP Pro SP2, fully updated.

When I select the DVD/RW Drive in "My Computer" I do not get a "Format"
option.

I am certain this used to be there ,by the way I have a disk inserted.

How do I get it back?

thanks

Daniel

Windows XP does not have any internal applications that supports a
DVD writer. A third-party application such as Nero or Roxio would be
needed. If one had been present in the computer, it might have been
a short-term, trial application that typically expires in 90 days
unless purchased separately.

You must install a DLA program to do that. Nero, Sonic and Roxio all have
them, one probably came with your drive or system. For normal use, CD/DVD's
do not require formatting. Only if you want to use them like a HD.

yes I think you may be right

cheers
