Format cdr and dvd+rw

How do I erase or format these disks for re-writing? What
software?
 
You cannot format a cd-r once it has been written to. Your drive came with
software that will allow formatting of Cd-RW in UDF format.

I cannot think of any reason to ever let your burning software to format a
CDRW as it turns it into one big floppy disk. Your burner software should
have an option to erase CDRWs.
